Vintage Kantha Pant - #14
We are so delighted to present our first gorgeous collection of OOAK Autumn pants, reupurposed from circa 1960’s vintage Kantha quilts.
Kantha is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of embroidery originating in India, and is still ritually practiced today by millions of South Asian women. The word “Kantha” defined means ‘making whole again that which was once fragmented or broken.’
Kantha quilts are known for almost always using the traditional ‘running stitch’, layering soft fabrics together to form a quilt.
Please keep in mind that every Kantha quilt that exists is one of a kind, and carries its own story. Your pants may have small signs of vintage wear. To love a vintage Kantha quilt is to love its past, and its imperfections. Each pair of pants varies slightly in weight, and texture.
All of our garments are lovingly handmade by our small team in New Delhi, India.
Cleaning:
We recommend hand washing in lukewarm water using mild detergent.
